Can you imagine someone having more than 180 cats in their house? That's not a typo. A family in Moriches told us they started with just a couple of cats and over the years, lost count after they reached 180 (so, there are probably more than that.)
Eventually, they realized they couldn't afford to take care of so many cats and asked for help. And that's where Rescue Ink came in.
In January, Rescue Ink went to the house for Phase One of the rescue operation. We were joined by a veterinarian and vet techs (and some tv and newspaper reporters - you may have seen the story). The group examined and vaccinated 50 cats and sequestered them from the remaining cats, so they didn't mix them up with the cats that hadn't been treated yet.
Right now, we're continuing the process until all the cats are taken care of medically and socialized so they're ready for their forever homes. And, now about 30 cats are available for Adoption, and boy, are they cute!

If you can't adopt a cat, but you'd like to help - we need donations. This rescue operation is costing us thousands of dollars and we really need your support.
Thanks! If you need more information or you see any animals that need help, call the Rescue Ink Hotline at 1-800-510-7355.
